Care grants $572,000 to help continue interpretation services through the Video Medical Interpretation (VMI) system at four Los Angeles County hospitals. The waiver allows California to enroll seniors and people with disabilities (SPDs) into Medi-Cal managed care. The federal government approves the Section 1115 Medicaid Waiver for California, which brings the state $10 billion in federal Medicaid support over the next five years. In collaboration with Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan, we've built 11 Community Resource Centers across Los Angeles County, with three more planned before the end of 2023 to meet our members where they are with what they need.Īnd, over the course of the past two years, L.A. To address a looming physician shortage, we launched the $155 million Elevating the Safety Net Initiative. We have created a Health Equity Department and are taking action in alignment with our Statement of Principles on Social Justice and Systemic Racism. Care is committed to advancing health equity for our members and their communities. During this time, we have worked closely with our Plan Partners to provide access to health care for our more than 2.5 million members and supported the safety net of health care providers needed to care for them.
